A father-and-son pair were imprisoned after admitting to breaking into a Doncaster residence and stealing a vehicle in mid-June. Security footage placed both men at the property in the early morning hours; they entered through a window, removed car keys from the kitchen, and drove away in a Seat Alteca worth nearly £8,000. Matching clothing from CCTV recordings led to their arrest, and the vehicle has not been recovered.

The 48-year-old received a 40-month sentence while his 20-year-old son was given 36 months in youth custody. The judge highlighted their serious criminal histories—the father now has ten dwelling burglary convictions totalling 142 previous offences, whilst his son had already accumulated four such convictions despite his young age. Both were also handed three-year restraining orders, and the court expressed that the son's established pattern of offending indicated minimal likelihood of reform.
