Bissouma was offered to Chelsea – Saturday’s gossip
Several Premier League clubs were reportedly weighing up transfer moves before and around deadline day, according to Saturday's football gossip column. Chelsea were offered former Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma as a potential replacement for Enzo Fernández, who left for Manchester City, while both Chelsea and City were said to have shown interest in Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton, though Palace rejected all bids.
Elsewhere, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Newcastle were linked with Atlético Madrid's Alex Baena, and Wolves' young forward Mateus Mane reportedly attracted interest from Liverpool and Manchester United. Arsenal are said to be considering a £68m January move for Barcelona's Raphinha, Tottenham may pay up Richarlison's contract to let him leave on a free, Everton's late £45m bid for West Ham's Taty Castellanos came too late to complete, and Newcastle rejected two Nottingham Forest offers for Jacob Murphy.
