Black Bordello Release Sepia-Tinted Single ‘Fugue’
South East London band Black Bordello have released ‘Fugue’, the first preview of their forthcoming EP, ‘Midheaven Tempest’. The single signals the group’s move towards a darker, more expansive sound, centred on vocalist Sienna Bordello’s theatrical delivery and vivid songwriting.
‘Midheaven Tempest’ is due on 18 September via AWAL and was produced by Balazs Altsach. The five-piece cite influences spanning Velvet Underground-style fuzz, gothic rock, trip-hop, industrial textures and chamber arrangements; Bordello said ‘Fugue’, inspired by Bach, is a playful critique of “society’s stage”.
