Black cab rapist John Worboys ‘delighted’ after being told he may be leaving jail for secure hospital
John Worboys, the convicted serial sex offender serving two life sentences, may be transferred from prison to a high-security hospital after experts diagnosed him with a personality disorder. The possible move matters because he was refused parole for a second time in May, with officials still considering him too dangerous to release.
The 69-year-old, now known as John Radford, has already moved from HMP Wakefield to a specialist unit at HMP Frankland that treats men with complex psychological needs. He was convicted in 2009 of 19 sexual offences against 12 women, but further victims later came forward; a proposed release in 2018 was reversed, and he received another life sentence in 2019.
