Black Sabbath icon Tony Iommi announces first solo album in over 20 years, ‘From The Dark’: “It rocks!”
Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has announced ‘From The Dark’, his first solo album in more than 20 years, due for release on 23 October via BMG. Its lead single, ‘World Alone’, was premiered at a global streaming event near Birmingham’s Black Sabbath Bridge, underlining Iommi’s continuing connection to the city and the band’s legacy.
The eight-track album features Norwegian singer Jorn Lande, bassist Becky Baldwin and drummer Karl Brazil, with Iommi co-producing alongside Mike Exeter. It follows Iommi’s 2001 album ‘Fused’ with Glenn Hughes and is his first new music since former bandmate Ozzy Osbourne’s death in July 2025; deluxe editions add two bonus tracks, while a limited 7-inch ‘World Alone’ single is scheduled for 4 September.
