‘Black Widow’ Meets ‘Killing Eve’ in HBO Max’s Official Smash Hit

Jennifer Lawrence’s 2018 spy thriller *Red Sparrow* has returned to popularity, ranking among the ten most-watched films on HBO Max in the United States. Its renewed audience comes ahead of *The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping*, in which Lawrence is set to reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, *Red Sparrow* casts Jennifer Lawrence as a Russian spy and also stars Charlotte Rampling, Joel Edgerton, Jeremy Irons and Mary-Louise Parker. The film earned about $150 million worldwide against a reported $70 million budget, and received a much more mixed critical response than the director’s *Hunger Games* films.
