Prime Video has released the first trailer for Blade Runner 2099 at San Diego Comic-Con and confirmed that the limited sequel series will premiere on 25 November. The announcement expands the Blade Runner franchise for streaming, returning to its dystopian Los Angeles setting and its conflict between humans and replicants.

Set 50 years after Blade Runner 2049, the series follows fugitive Cora, played by Hunter Schafer, as she assumes the role of a Blade Runner and teams up with Olwen, a dying replicant played by Michelle Yeoh. It will launch in 240 countries and territories, is executive produced by Ridley Scott, and centres on a runaway whose hidden truth could destabilise the newly rebuilt city.
