Prime Video has released the first trailer for “Blade Runner 2099”, a limited television series continuing Ridley Scott’s science-fiction universe nine years after “Blade Runner 2049”. The series matters as it brings the long-running film franchise to television, expanding its story of conflict between humans and replicants.

Michelle Yeoh plays Olwen, a replicant confronting the end of her life, while Hunter Schafer plays Cora, a human fleeing Blade Runners; the trailer shows them joining forces. The show was filmed largely in Prague, with further production in Barcelona, and is led by showrunner Silka Luisa, with Scott among the executive producers; it premieres on Prime Video on 25 November.
