Blossoms have revealed that they recorded vocals for a forthcoming collaborative single with Declan McKenna while in a hot tub. Frontman Tom Ogden described the session as absurd but enjoyable, reflecting the playful approach the band say they are taking on their next album.

The song, ‘Additional Driver’, concerns a minor car bump near Manchester’s Apollo roundabout and was debuted at a Manchester Deaf Institute show on 5 August. It was written during a week with McKenna at an Anglesey Airbnb, while the accompanying video recreates the incident with a 192 bus and fake police; Blossoms’ album ‘Songs From The Wedding Cake’ is due on 2 October and will also feature Rick Astley and Inhaler’s Elijah Hewson.
