Bob Dylan Unveiled Yet Another New Guitarist, Covered Randy Newman at Tour Launch
Bob Dylan opened his Lights of Autumn Tour in Oslo with a set that mixed rarities, reworked favourites and unexpected covers. The show included his first performance of Randy Newman’s “Louisiana 1927”, marking the first time he has played any song from Newman’s catalogue.
He also returned to “Crash on the Levee (Down in the Flood)” for the first time since 2005 and performed a stripped-down “Tangled Up in Blue” for the first time since 2018. Dylan played Guy Clark’s “Dublin Blues” too, while a new guitarist joined the band, believed by some fans to be Mike Seal, though the musician’s identity remains unconfirmed. It is the sixth guitarist change in five months.
