Bob Iger’s Son Hired As Play-By-Play TV Announcer For Lakers’ G-League Team
The Los Angeles Lakers have hired Will Iger, son of Disney chief Bob Iger, as play-by-play announcer for their newly relocated G-League team, the Coachella Valley Lakers. His appointment continues a family connection to the club as the Lakers are being sold to Joshua Kushner and Bob Iger, and comes as the team prepares to begin its season.
Iger called games last season for the San Antonio Spurs’ G-League affiliate in Austin, and has also worked on San Antonio FC home games and a Dallas Mavericks studio show. He will share the Coachella Valley broadcasts with former Laker A.C. Green, providing colour commentary; games will air on Spectrum SportsNet. The squad is also set to include Bronny James, who was sent down from the Lakers’ NBA team.
In short
- Will Iger will call games for the Coachella Valley Lakers.
- He previously announced for an Austin G-League team.
- A.C. Green will provide colour commentary.
