Hillary Lindsey, born in Washington, Georgia on 11 August 1977, has become one of Nashville's most successful songwriters, credited with 27 number-one hits spanning country and pop. Her catalogue includes Grammy-winning songs such as "Jesus, Take the Wheel" for Carrie Underwood, "Girl Crush" for Little Big Town, and "I'll Never Love Again" for Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, cementing her reputation as a go-to writer for major recording artists.

Lindsey moved to Nashville in 1994 to study music business at Belmont University, and after a brief, unsuccessful stint as a signed artist with Sony Music, she turned to co-writing with figures including Gordie Sampson and Brett James.
