Bose has announced its first wired earbuds in over a decade, priced at $99, marking a notable return to the wired market amid a growing resurgence of wired headphones amongst younger consumers. The decision reflects changing listening habits and demonstrates that the traditional plug-in design remains relevant in an era dominated by wireless technology. Bose's return is significant because it combines the simplicity and durability of wired earbuds with contemporary features typically found in wireless models, suggesting manufacturers are taking the wired resurgence seriously.

The new Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds connect via USB-C and offer active noise cancellation with four microphones (two per earbud), lossless audio support, an in-line remote for control and low-latency performance. Because the earbuds draw power directly from the connected device, they require no internal battery, charging case or Bluetooth pairing—eliminating the maintenance burden of wireless alternatives. The earbuds are available for pre-order at $99 in three colourways (Dewdrop Mint, Black and White Smoke), with shipping beginning 15 October.
