Bose has unveiled a second-generation version of its entry-level QuietComfort noise-cancelling headphones, first launched in late 2023, bringing head-tracking immersive audio to a cheaper model for the first time. The update matters because it brings Bose's TrueSpatial spatial audio technology, previously reserved for the pricier QuietComfort Ultra, down to the standard range, alongside a redesigned headband and adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC).

The new headphones will cost $359, a modest increase on the original's $349 launch price, with preorders opening on 8 August and shipping from 13 August in five colours. Key upgrades include Bose Immersive Audio modes using side-to-side head tracking, an improved Aware mode and six microphones that better compensate for glasses-related seal gaps, Bluetooth 5.4 with multipoint pairing, lossless USB-C playback, and battery life of up to 24 hours (18 hours with immersive audio enabled).
