“Avengers: Endgame Encore” earned $3.8 million in preview screenings and is expected to make $25 million to $28 million over the weekend, giving Marvel’s re-release a strong opening. It will compete with defending champion “Resident Evil”, as well as three new releases: “Primetime”, “Heart of the Beast” and “Forgotten Island”.

“Resident Evil” is targeting $24 million to $26 million after taking $61 million last week. “Primetime” earned $2.7 million in previews and “Heart of the Beast” made $2 million, with both projected to debut between $17 million and $20 million, while “Forgotten Island” made $1.5 million and is expected to reach $15 million to $17 million. The films include Robert Pattinson portraying Chris Hansen, Brad Pitt as a stranded veteran travelling 58 miles with his combat dog, and an animated fantasy set in 1990s Philippines.
