"Avengers: Endgame Encore" earned $3.8 million in previews and is projected to take $25–28 million this weekend, nearly matching defending champion "Resident Evil," which targets $24–26 million after earning $61 million in its opening week. Three other films debut this weekend: Robert Pattinson's "Primetime," a dark drama about the "To Catch a Predator" reality TV show ($2.7 million in previews, projected $17–20 million); Brad Pitt's survival thriller "Heart of the Beast," in which Pitt plays a veteran stranded in Alaska with his combat dog ($2 million in previews, also projected $17–20 million); and the animated fantasy "Forgotten Island," set in 1990s Philippines and starring H.E.R. and Liza Soberano ($1.5 million in previews, targeting $15–17 million).
