Masked attackers seriously injure teenager and father in Leicestershire home raid

Two masked men entered a family home in Thurnby, Leicestershire, at about 12.30am on Thursday and seriously injured a 15-year-old boy and his father. Both remain in hospital in life-threatening conditions; police describe the attack as apparently unprovoked and are investigating its motive.

The boy was stabbed three times, according to a friend, and his father, who is in his 50s, was also knifed. The boy’s mother sustained minor injuries and has been discharged, while three other children in the house were unharmed. Police are appealing for information, CCTV and dashcam footage from near Station Road and Somerby Road between 11pm on Wednesday and the early hours of Thursday.
