Bradford City won 1-0 away to Sheffield Wednesday, maintaining a perfect start to their League One campaign. Manager Graham Alexander admitted his side struggled badly in the first half but praised their response after the interval, saying the result showed the value of trusting their style under pressure.

Aden Baldwin scored the decisive volley two minutes after half-time, following a corner that was headed on by Matthew Pennington. Sheffield Wednesday had controlled much of the first half and created chances through Barry Bannan and Louie Barry, while Jamal Lowe missed a close-range opportunity to equalise in stoppage time; Alexander said Bradford had done well merely to reach half-time level.
