Globo, Latin America's largest media company, and Turkish production powerhouse Ay Yapim have extended their partnership with a new three-title deal, marking the latest step in a growing exchange between Brazilian and Turkish television. The agreement includes a Turkish adaptation of Globo's 2011 telenovela "Looks & Essence," retitled "Ömür Usta," which will premiere on Turkey's Now free-to-air channel in September. The deal builds on the earlier success of "Leyla," Ay Yapim's adaptation of Globo's "Brazil Avenue," which distributor Madd Entertainment has sold to more than 100 countries.

"Ömür Usta" will be directed by Hilal Siral, a veteran Ay Yapim filmmaker behind hits including "Fatmagül" and "Endless Love," and adapts a story originally written by Brazilian telenovela writer Aguinaldo Silva about a humble handywoman navigating a wealthy neighbourhood. Madd Entertainment will distribute all three new adaptations internationally, while Globo said the titles may also appear on its own platforms, including Globoplay. The renewed alliance, first announced at Mipcom 2023, reflects the wider expansion of Turkish telenovelas into Latin America and Europe, alongside Globo's broader push into format sales, international co-productions and prestige series such as "Emergency 53."
