Actor Anthony Michael Hall, best known for his role in "The Breakfast Club," has spoken about what has kept his acting career going for more than five decades. Speaking at a press event for the FOX celebrity competition series "Nation's Dumbest," which he is starring in alongside host Jack Whitehall, Hall attributed his longevity in the entertainment industry to resilience and a determined attitude rather than any specific career strategy.

Hall said the key qualities were having "thick skin", being "game" to work with talented people, and remaining "persistent and tenacious". He credited his temperament partly to being naturally "hard-headed", but stressed that a thick skin was essential for enduring the pressures of a career spanning over 50 years in Hollywood.
