BRENT FITZ, Drummer For TRIUMPH And SLASH, Gets Part Of Winnipeg Street Named After Him

Blabbermouth · 3 weeks ago

Part of Bellavista Crescent in Winnipeg’s Crestview neighbourhood has been given the honorary name Brent Fitz Way in recognition of drummer Brent Fitz, whose career has included work with Slash, Triumph and several other rock artists. The honour reflects both his international musical career and his long-standing connection to Winnipeg, where he grew up and began learning music.

The street-naming ceremony was scheduled for 10am on 7 August 2026. Fitz studied music theory through the Royal Conservatory of Music and moved from Winnipeg to Los Angeles in the mid-1990s before later working with artists including Alice Cooper, Vince Neil, Theory of a Deadman and Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. He described the recognition as humbling and said he saw it as an acknowledgement of his neighbourhood and the city, not solely of his professional achievements.

  • The renamed section is on his childhood street.
