The company says its alarm monitoring and security services remain fully operational, but the intruder has threatened to release data it claims to have stolen, leaving customers in an unsettling position given the sensitive nature of the company they trust to protect their homes.

Brinks Home serves residential customers across all 50 US states and says it protects more than 1 million people throughout North America, meaning the breach could have wide-reaching implications. The hacking group ShinyHunters has claimed responsibility, alleging it stole 4.9 million records, though Brinks Home has not yet confirmed exactly what information was accessed or which customers may be affected, leaving a significant information gap for those potentially impacted.
