BritBox and the BBC have unveiled the supporting cast for Hercule, the upcoming Agatha Christie origin series exploring how Hercule Poirot became the world's greatest detective, ahead of production beginning in Liverpool. Edward Bluemel, previously announced as Poirot, will be joined by ten new cast members, with the six-part series positioned as an intimate character study set against the backdrop of interwar Britain.

The newly revealed cast includes Henry Ashton, James D'Arcy, Calvin Demba, Phil Dunning, Jack Gleeson, Tamsin Greig, James Nesbitt, Guy Remmers, Rebecca Rittenhouse and Mawaan Rizwan. The series, written by Benji Walters and produced by Mammoth Screen and Agatha Christie Limited, will draw on three early Christie stories and introduce a key future nemesis; directing duties are split between Jonny Campbell, Chanya Button and Alrick Riley. Fifth Season will handle global distribution, with the show expected to be a strong presale title at October's MIPCOM market ahead of its 2027 launch on the BBC and BritBox in North America.
