NBC will return to Major League Baseball’s Wild Card playoff coverage this year, with games split across its broadcast network, cable channel NBC Sports Network and Peacock. The arrangement gives broadcast television more postseason games than in recent years, while Peacock will stream every inning, making the playoffs a substantial live-sports offering for the service.

Tuesday and Wednesday will each have four games, scheduled for 2pm, 5pm, 8pm and 10pm Eastern Time; Thursday’s schedule will depend on which best-of-three series need a deciding game. NBC will air the 2pm and 8pm games on the first two days, and between one and three games on Thursday. The coverage forms part of NBCUniversal’s reported three-year, $600 million MLB rights deal and comes as baseball audiences have grown: the 2025 World Series averaged 15.71 million viewers per game, its strongest average since 2017. Peacock had 48 million subscribers at the end of June and reported its first quarterly profit in the second quarter.
