A four-hour theatrical production chronicling the trial of Dominique Pelicot and the 51 men convicted of drugging and raping his ex-wife Gisèle Pelicot will be performed at London County Hall for a single night in November. Created by Swiss director Milo Rau and playwright Servane Dècle, the play has already toured 15 countries worldwide and garnered international acclaim for its powerful dramatisation of the landmark trial that became a symbol of resilience against sexual violence and patriarchal abuse.

The production will feature an ensemble of 27 actors, including recognised television performers, and reconstructs the trial from court transcripts and journalists' notes. Dominique Pelicot was sentenced to 20 years in prison in December 2024, whilst all 51 accused men received guilty verdicts; Gisèle Pelicot famously waived her right to anonymity to ensure public proceedings, declaring "shame must change sides." The Young Vic, which is hosting the performance, expects the show to sell out immediately, with audiences predominantly female, though the creators hope to attract more male viewers to foster discussion about the perpetrators and broader societal issues surrounding consent and gender-based violence.
