Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson made a guest appearance with Billie Joe Armstrong’s covers band The Coverups at a San Diego Comic-Con party on 23 July, performing Mott the Hoople’s “All The Young Dudes”. The appearance brought together two prominent rock frontmen and revisited a song Dickinson had previously recorded for his 1990 solo debut, Tattooed Millionaire.

Dickinson said he performed after arriving from Europe and being severely jet-lagged, describing it as effectively 6am for him and joking that the performance survives on YouTube in “awful” form. The event was held at FLOAT in San Diego’s Hard Rock Hotel, while Dickinson is also preparing a new solo album: 16 songs were recorded earlier in 2026, though the release is not expected before 2027.
