Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has revealed that his forthcoming solo album, recorded at Dave Grohl's Studio 606, is "heavy as shit," offering fans an early taste of the record's direction. The as-yet-untitled album is due in 2027 and will follow up his 2024 release The Mandrake Project, which had been paired with a comic-book series and other multimedia elements; this time, Dickinson says he is largely stepping away from that concept in favour of a more traditional standalone album.

The sessions took place in January and February 2026 at Grohl's Los Angeles studio, again with producer Brendan Duffey, who also worked on The Mandrake Project. Dickinson said only one track retains a loose connection to the Mandrake storyline, and that he doesn't feel obliged to tie future music to it. The news comes as Dickinson has been making other public appearances, including performing "All the Young Dudes" with Billie Joe Armstrong's cover band the Coverups at San Diego Comic-Con, while Iron Maiden prepare for their "Run for Your Lives" North American tour with Megadeth and Anthrax.
