Brunello Cucinelli Docufilm ‘The Gracious Visionary’ Sells Internationally Ahead of North American Release (EXCLUSIVE)
A documentary about Italian fashion designer Brunello Cucinelli, known as the "King of Cashmere," has been sold to a wide range of international territories, expanding its reach ahead of a North American release on 24 July. "Brunello: The Gracious Visionary," directed by Oscar winner Giuseppe Tornatore, follows its successful Italian theatrical run last year and a recent screening at the Shanghai Film Festival, with further releases planned for the UK and Ireland.
The film charts Cucinelli's journey from farmer's son to executive chairman of a luxury lifestyle brand valued at more than $7.8 billion, blending documentary footage with reenactments starring Saul Nanni as a younger Cucinelli, alongside a score by composer Nicola Piovani. Sales company Twenty-Nine Palms Entertainment has struck deals across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, including with distributors in Hong Kong, Turkey, France, Japan, Germany, South Korea, China, Australia, India, Spain and elsewhere, as well as global airline distribution. The film is produced by Brunello Cucinelli S.p.A. and MasiFilm with RAI Cinema.
