BTS’ ARIRANG, World Tour Drive HYBE Revenues to All-Time High

Billboard · 3 hours ago

HYBE, the South Korean entertainment company behind BTS, reported record quarterly revenue of 1.45 trillion Korean won ($987 million) and record operating profit of 170.9 billion won ($116 million), driven largely by strong sales of the group's ARIRANG album and their ongoing world tour. The results underline BTS's continued commercial dominance following their return to full group activity, with touring, recorded music, advertising and appearances all contributing significantly to the company's growth.

"Artist direct involvement revenue" – covering recorded music, concerts, adverts and appearances – totalled 1.04 trillion won ($708 million) in the quarter ending 30 June, up 132% year-on-year, while revenue from merchandise, licensing, content and fan club memberships rose 59% to 410 billion won ($279 million). BTS's tour was the highest-grossing and best-selling in May, grossing $127.8 million from 641,000 tickets across 12 shows, and ARIRANG has since climbed back into the Billboard 200's top 10 following a new vinyl reissue. Operating expenses also rose sharply, up 100% to nearly 1.3 trillion won ($871 million), but profit still grew almost 160% on the previous year.
