BTS have announced they will not submit their comeback album, ARIRANG, for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards. BTS has received five Grammy nominations over the past five years, including for "Dynamite" (2020) and "Butter" (2021), both in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category, as well as three nominations in 2023, one of which was for Album of the Year as featured guests on Coldplay's Music of the Spheres. Fans have speculated the withdrawal may relate to the Recording Academy's June announcement of five new categories, including Best Asian Pop Music Performance, which some see as potentially sidelining K-pop acts from broader pop categories. Online entry for the 2027 Grammys opened on 7 July and closes on 21 August, with nominees announced on 16 November and the ceremony held on 7 February.
