California rabbi accused of intentionally running down, killing worker painting Costco lot: prosecutors
Prosecutors allege that California rabbi and educator Abba Avrohom Bryski intentionally drove into Nicholas Lang, a worker painting lines in a Costco car park in Camarillo, killing him. Bryski has been charged with murder, and the case raises questions about what led to the fatal encounter; authorities have not disclosed a motive or whether the men knew each other.
Lang, 28, was working at about 8.30pm on 20 October when Bryski allegedly struck him with an Infiniti Q60. Deputies arrived after a call at about 8.37pm, detained Bryski nearby and took Lang to hospital, where he died. Bryski also faces allegations of personally using a deadly weapon and resisting or obstructing a peace officer; he remains in custody without bail, and his arraignment was continued to 18 November.
