Call of Duty: Warzone’s yearly refresh includes DMZ map Hajin in BR, MW4 guns, and reworks galore
Call of Duty: Warzone is getting a major refresh alongside season one of Modern Warfare 4, bringing the Hajin map from DMZ and the campaign into battle royale from 6 November. The update also puts MW4 weapons and gameplay features at the centre of Warzone, changing how players build loadouts and approach matches.
Hajin will include familiar DMZ locations, a new Gulag and dynamic weather, while MW4 adds features such as dragging downed allies and a Zipline Launcher. Weapons from Modern Warfare 2 (2022) through Black Ops 7 (2025) will remain usable, but cannot be edited in the Gunsmith; cosmetics will carry over. Resurgence will spotlight the Zodiac map, with Verdansk and Rebirth Island due back mid-season.
In short
- Hajin arrives in battle royale on 6 November.
- MW4 weapons become the main loot pool.
- Zodiac, Verdansk and Rebirth Island feature in the update.
Explained simply
Call of Duty: Warzone is a free-to-play online game in which players fight to be the last team standing. It is part of the wider Call of Duty series, whose annual releases bring new settings, weapons and gameplay systems; Modern Warfare 4 is the latest game in that line.
DMZ is a separate mode built around exploring a large map and completing objectives, and Hajin is one of its locations. Bringing that setting into battle royale means familiar places will be used for a different style of match, while weapons and other items from several earlier Call of Duty games remain available alongside the new game’s equipment.
The changes matter to players who move between Warzone and the annual releases, because they affect how weapons can be customised and how teams play together. Warzone also has several modes and maps, so updates can change which locations and styles of play are in focus.
