Camelback Inn Resort Unveils $25 Million Spa Renovation in the Desert

The Hollywood Reporter · 1 month ago

The JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn has completed a substantial renovation of its spa facilities, timed to coincide with the property's 90th anniversary. The resort, which established itself as one of the region's earliest full-service spa resorts and has attracted prominent guests throughout its history, now features comprehensively redesigned wellness spaces utilising contemporary design and recovery amenities.

The redesigned spa incorporates aesthetic and architectural elements derived from its Sonoran Desert context, with materials and spatial choices designed to reduce the boundary between indoor and outdoor environments. The facility provides multiple water-based wellness circuits distributed across sheltered and exposed areas, whilst a new post-treatment space integrates advanced comfort technologies such as zero-gravity seating, weighted textiles, and curated audio environments to prolong the therapeutic benefits of individual treatments.

  • $25M spa facility overhaul at historic JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn, marking the resort's 90th anniversary and its legacy as a pioneering Southwestern spa destination.
  • Desert-inspired redesign emphasises indoor-outdoor integration with outdoor hydrotherapy circuits and a new post-treatment 'Stillness Lounge' featuring zero-gravity seating and guided recovery technologies.
