Colombian pop star Camilo has released his new album "Para Cuando Sean Mayores" ("For When You Grow Up"), written for his young daughters Índigo and Amaranto but which he says ended up helping him understand himself and the world better. The 13-track record, out on Wednesday (10 September) via El Taller Creativo and Sony Music Latin, pairs simple, fairytale-like song titles with weighty themes such as sacrifice, lost innocence and the pain of growing up, marking what Camilo calls the first time he has expressed such personal reflections through music rather than interviews.

Musically, the album blends Camilo's signature pop sound with ballads, bolero and Brazilian rhythms, and includes a duet with his wife Evaluna Montaner, "La Medalla", plus a bilingual love song for her titled "For Eva". The artwork and all 13 accompanying music videos were filmed around a puppet theatre in Barcelona, with his daughters pictured watching the performances. Camilo, who rose to fame after winning Colombia's Factor Xs competition aged 13 in 2007, also picked out five essential tracks from the record, including "El Titiritero" ("The Puppeteer"), which he describes as reflecting the sacrifices artists make in pursuit of success.
