The gathering took place outside Scotiabank Arena ahead of the Indiana Fever's match against the Toronto Tempo, reflecting how the controversy surrounding Cunningham has spread beyond American audiences and become a talking point within wider WNBA culture-war debates.

It was the seventh rally held in Cunningham's support overall, with supporters seen wearing XX-XY Athletics T-shirts. Hutchinson said the crowd was made up entirely of Cunningham supporters until roughly five people wearing pro-transgender messaging also appeared at the scene.
