Caos Cine, a New Mexican Distributor, Launches at Morelia Fest With ‘The Huntress,’ Picked Up From Edher Campos and Gabriela Maire’s Zafiro (EXCLUSIVE)
Mexican distributor Caos Cine has launched at the Morelia Film Festival with its first acquisition, Susanne Andrews Correa’s debut feature *The Huntress*. The move introduces a new distributor whose founders say they aim to give films distribution plans tailored to their needs and individual attention, while bringing the film to Mexican audiences.
Starring Adriana Paz, the film is based on real events in Ciudad Juárez and follows Luz, who sets out to kill a serial rapist to protect her 14-year-old daughter and young factory workers. Andrews Correa researched the city from 2018, speaking with workers, journalists, activists, officials and families of disappeared women; the film, made in Ciudad Juárez and Mexico City, is the only Latin American film selected for Sundance 2026. It has its Mexican premiere at Morelia on 19 October and is competing at the festival, which runs from 16 to 25 October.
