Capcom Is Having A Great Year, And It Has Franchises New And Old To Thank
Capcom reported higher sales and profits for the quarter ending 30 June, helped by the strong performance of new game Pragmata alongside continuing demand for older titles. The results suggest the publisher’s strategy of pairing new releases with a long-selling back catalogue is sustaining growth across both newer and established franchises.
Net sales rose 54% year on year and operating profit increased 67%. Pragmata sold more than 2.5 million copies, while Resident Evil Requiem reached 8 million; catalogue sales totalled 21.26 million units, supported by series including Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter.
