Capcom is commissioning a life-sized statue of Leon S. Kennedy, Resident Evil's long-running protagonist, as part of a 30th anniversary exhibition in Shibuya, Tokyo. The statue will join Capcom's existing collection of character figures at its offices and stores, and the announcement has prompted a wave of jokey reactions online from fans eager to see (and touch) the model in person.

The Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Exhibition runs from 30 October to 24 December 2026 at the Shibuya BEAM Gallery, with tickets already on sale since 3 August. Confirmed zones include "Evidence of Horror", featuring life-sized models of the series' villains and creatures; "Memories of Those Who Stood Against Them", which traces the franchise's heroes and will house Leon's statue; and "The World of Resident Evil Theater", a screen showcase to set the mood before visitors enter. The event coincides with a strong period for the franchise, including Resident Evil Requiem's success, over two million Steam wishlists for the Code Veronica remake, and an upcoming film reimagining directed by Zach Cregger due in cinemas this September.
