The company's decision to port an existing title rather than develop new content has sparked considerable frustration on social media, with fans expressing their dismay.

The franchise has achieved remarkable commercial success, with the 2019 Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy surpassing 5 million copies sold and the overall series exceeding 15 million copies across all releases. Capcom shared these milestones on 20 September, the same day the company posted promotional artwork for the series' upcoming 25th anniversary on 12 October. Fans remain hopeful that an announcement for new content could materialise at The Game Awards on 10 December or during the anniversary celebrations in October.
