Capcom says likelihood of a Pragmata sequel is high, citing strong sales and ‘appeal’ of its main character, Diana

Capcom has said a sequel to the sci-fi shooter Pragmata is likely, following strong sales that have exceeded the company's internal expectations. The comments, made by corporate officer Yoshikazu Shimauchi and reported by Bloomberg, come as Capcom's stock rose around 19 percent after strong Q1 2026 financial results, underlining how the game's commercial success is now shaping the publisher's plans for the franchise.

Pragmata has sold 2.5 million copies since launching earlier this year, contributing to Capcom's quarterly operating profit of ¥41.1bn ($251m), alongside Resident Evil Requiem's 8 million sales. Capcom credited pre-release marketing and the appeal of the game's main character, Diana, for boosting sales in both domestic and international markets. This follows earlier hints of a sequel from director Yonghee Cho and Capcom USA's Rob Dyer, who had both suggested Pragmata could grow into a franchise.
