Cardiff City are set to sign midfielder Jack Moylan from Championship rivals Lincoln City, strengthening the Bluebirds' squad ahead of the new season. The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international would become Cardiff's second summer signing after goalkeeper Nathan Trott joined in May, and he will reunite with fellow Irishman Brian Barry-Murphy, Cardiff's manager.

Moylan was instrumental in Lincoln's promotion from League One last season, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists as the Imps pipped Cardiff to the title. His form earned him a first Republic of Ireland call-up, on which he scored a hat-trick on his debut in a 5-0 win over Grenada. Cardiff, who recently beat Roma 4-1 in a friendly, host Swindon Town in the EFL Cup on 8 August before starting their league campaign away to Wrexham on 17 August.
