Cardiff City ended their pre-season with an emphatic 4-1 victory over AS Roma at Cardiff City Stadium, offering a strong confidence boost before their return to Championship football. The result was particularly notable against three-time Serie A champions Roma, with Cardiff producing an impressive first-half display to establish a commanding lead.

Yousef Salech, Ollie Tanner and Cian Ashford, who scored twice, secured the win, while goalkeeper Nathan Trott saved a Paulo Dybala penalty before Roma’s forward later scored.
