Cardiff have plenty of room for growth – Colwill

BBC Sport · 3 hours ago

Cardiff City midfielder Rubin Colwill believes the Bluebirds have significant room to improve under manager Brian Barry-Murphy as they begin life back in the Championship, following an opening-day 1-1 draw with Wrexham. Colwill's stoppage-time free-kick rescued a point for Cardiff on Monday night, offering an early response to doubters who had tipped the newly promoted side for an immediate return to League One.

Colwill, who has 10 caps for Wales, said the squad's focus is on refining what already works rather than overhauling their approach, citing improved detail and intensity as key areas for growth. He missed 15 league games last season through an ankle injury but still managed eight goals and six assists in 31 outings as Cardiff won automatic promotion, and says he is now fully fit and ready for the new campaign.
