Disney’s Zombies actor Carla Jeffery dies aged 33

Carla Jeffery, the actor best known for playing Bree in Disney's "Zombies" film franchise and its 2024 animated spin-off, has died aged 33. Her death was confirmed on 1 September by her longtime representatives at Alexanders Talent Management, who paid tribute to her on social media but did not disclose a cause or place of death. Her passing marks the loss of a performer who had built a two-decade career across television and film, becoming particularly recognisable to younger audiences through the Disney Channel musical franchise.

Jeffery played Bree, an aspiring cheerleader, in the 2018 Disney Channel telefilm "Zombies" and its 2020 and 2022 sequels, later voicing the character in the 2024 animated series. Earlier in her career she appeared in ten episodes of HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" between 2006 and 2008, playing Keysha Black, a member of a family displaced by Hurricane Katrina who moves in with Larry David. Born in Houston in July 1993, she made her screen debut in the 2006 film "Phat Girlz" and went on to guest star in numerous shows including "iCarly", "Southland" and Netflix's "American Vandal". Her twin brother, Carlon Jeffery, is also an actor, known for Disney Channel's "A.N.T. Farm".
