Carly Rae Jepsen has released "Motivation", the fourth advance single from her forthcoming double album Day And Night, due out on 18 September via Interscope. The release comes amid a busy period for the singer, who this week was also confirmed to be collaborating with Lena Dunham on a stage-musical adaptation of 10 Things I Hate About You, set to open on Broadway next year.

"Motivation" is a bright, euphoric club-pop track that Jepsen co-wrote with Cole MGN, who also co-produced it alongside her regular collaborator Kyle Shearer. She has said the song, inspired by time spent in her hometown, reflects on her family's passion and high expectations of one another, and is intended as an anthem for both biological and chosen families. It follows previously released tracks "On Wires", "After All" and "Don't Leave Me On The Dance Floor" from the 24-song record, and its accompanying video, directed by Caio Viera and shot in Paris, stars Gigi Goode and features a glimpse of Jepsen's newborn baby.
