‘Carrie’ Star Samantha Sloyan Officially Explains Margaret White’s Brutal Ending

Samantha Sloyan says Margaret White’s actions in Mike Flanagan’s Carrie series are driven by her determination to protect her daughter, Carrie, whom she believes the world would treat as a monster. That protection is bound up with Margaret’s fear of losing Carrie and the sense that her daughter is the last good thing in her life.

Sloyan describes Margaret’s death, in which Adelaide uses her powers to stop Margaret’s heart, as a moment when Margaret realises she may have mistaken her powers for God’s voice and made the wrong choices.
