Carter Faith has released a deluxe edition of her debut album, Cherry Valley, adding five songs that extend its country storytelling and explore troubled relationships, western imagery and collaborations. The release matters because it builds on an album that received an ACM Album of the Year nomination, a rare achievement for a debut country record.

The new tracks include “Dead Horse”, “Ain’t Over Me Yet” and “If A Man’s From Texas”, which the review highlights for their darker tone, emotional pull and traditional country songwriting. Faith also collaborates with Wyatt Flores on “Nothin’ Better To Do” and with Laci Kaye Booth and Baby Nova on “Pearl Handled Pistol”, presented as a modern outlaw-country-style ensemble.
