Country singer Carter Faith has released a video for "Pearl Handled Pistol," a revenge track from her deluxe album Cherry Valley Forever, featuring fellow artists Laci Kaye Booth and Baby Nova. The song and its accompanying visual, in which the trio dispose of a body, continue a long-running country music tradition of dark comic revenge narratives popularised by the Chicks' 1999 hit "Goodbye Earl," framing the story as a celebration of female strength rather than literal violence.

Written by Faith, Booth, Jessie Jo Dillon and Chris Tompkins, the song blends Bakersfield-style guitar with the three artists trading verses, evoking both the Chicks and the Pistol Annies. Faith is currently touring with Post Malone ahead of her own Cherry Valley Forever tour this autumn, while Booth is preparing to release her debut Lost Highway Records album, Love Ain't for the Faint of Heart, on 18 September, and is spending the summer opening for Ella Langley.
