Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Real Swansea Accent Is Loud and Proud in Trailer for AMC+’s ‘Kill Jackie’
Catherine Zeta-Jones has released the first trailer for AMC+'s "Kill Jackie", a thriller series in which she uses her natural Swansea accent on screen for the first time. The eight-part show, adapted from Aidan Truhen's novel "The Price You Pay", sees the Welsh Oscar-winner play Jackie Price, an art dealer hiding a past as an international drug smuggler, who must outwit a squad of assassins known as The Seven Demons after they are hired to kill her.
The series was shot partly in Zeta-Jones's home city of Swansea, as well as in Bilbao, Lisbon and London, and was co-created by Conor Keane, Tom Butterworth, Peter Lawson and Damon Thomas, with Thomas directing and Butterworth serving as writer and showrunner. The cast also includes Daniel Ings, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Julian Barratt, Bill Paterson and Ron Perlman. "Kill Jackie" marks a return to UK television for Zeta-Jones, who broke through on "The Darling Buds of May" before her Hollywood career, and it will debut on 2 October, streaming on AMC+ in the US and Amazon Prime Video in the UK and several other territories.
