CBS News Pushes Into Live Events as ‘Sunday Morning’ Teams With 92nd Street Y (Exclusive)

The Hollywood Reporter · 2 hours ago

CBS News is expanding into live events through a partnership between CBS Sunday Morning and New York’s 92nd Street Y, creating a public interview series called “CBS Sunday Morning At 92NY”. The move matters because it extends the programme beyond broadcast television, allowing longer conversations with prominent guests and supporting CBS News’s broader push into in-person audience events.

The series begins on 28 September with correspondent Tracy Smith interviewing Sylvester Stallone, following a separate CBS Sunday Morning interview with him the previous day. Tickets will be sold to the public, while the events will be livestreamed by 92NY and later available on CBS News streaming services and Paramount+. Executive producer Rand Morrison said the format could eventually be replicated in other US cities if the New York launch succeeds.
